Operations Manager will oversee and coordinate all daily activities within our abattoir. The ideal candidate will ensure the facility operates efficiently, complies with regulatory standards, and maintains a high level of product quality and safety.
The incumbent will be responsible to manage and supervise daily abattoir operations including slaughter, processing, hygiene, and dispatch. Lead, motivate, and develop operational staff to achieve production and quality targets. Ensure compliance with animal welfare, health & safety, environmental, and food hygiene regulations. Implement and monitor KPIs to improve productivity, efficiency, and cost control. Coordinate maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment to minimize downtime. Liaise with suppliers, logistics, and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth workflow. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all aspects of operations.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in an operations or production management role within an abattoir or meat processing environment.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance related to meat processing (e.g., HACCP, environmental standards).
- Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Degree in Animal Science or relevant qualifications in meat processing, food science, engineering, or related field.
